Car was purchased by current owner/seller from a private individual about 100 miles from his home in Greensburg, PA, in December 2014.

• The car had 7,500 miles on it when the owner purchased it in 2014.
  
• On the window sticker the Destination normally designates a dealership, this one is shown as Diversified.  (Diversified is the location of Ford Chassis design in Romulus, MI.)
• The 2013 GT500 was the 20th anniversary of the SVT Group, and to mark the 20th anniversary the expectations for the car was that it would be the fastest and most powerful production vehicle for 2013.  The car was being advertised to make 200 mph, so the people at chassis design had to reach that mark
• The final changes to the car to get it to the 200 mark were to remove the grille to reduce drag, and replace the two-piece aluminum drive shaft with a one-piece carbon fiber unit.
• Once the specifications for the production cars had been developed, there was no longer any need for the pre-production vehicle.
• This pre-production car has a VIN number that is 6776 numbers lower than the #1 - 2013 Shelby that sold at Barrett Jackson in January 2015 for $280K.
• Basically, what has been told to the current owner by Ford is that pre production cars are not normally sold. Supposedly, the car was headed for the crusher.
• When the car left Ford Motor Company in, MI., it had 3,500 miles on it. It went to auction, to a broker, to a dealer in Ohio, finally to a private owner in Pennsylvania.  
• The window sticker was not available for the car when purchased from the dealer by the first private owner. The present owner asked for the sticker and he was told that the car did not have one with it.  It was not discovered that the car was a pre production model until the present owner requested a replacement window sticker from Ford and the Shelby Certification for his own reference.
• The current owner purchased the car in December of 2014, with 7500 on the odometer.  The car is now at 17,084.
• The window sticker shows the options and they include recaro seats, but the car came out of the factory with power sport buckets as you can see in the photos.
• In discussions with Barrett Jackson and with Shelby America, they both feel that the sticker not matching the seat option is just another plus for the "mystic" of the car. In the photos you can see the car has Sport bucket seats, but on the window sticker, the car optioned with Recaro seats.
• Both Shelby and Barrett Jackson feel the car commands a premium price because it is a pre production car of a "water-mark" model year introduction, being the 20 year anniversary as well as the last year of Carroll Shelby's influence on the car design.
