1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

description

1969 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 survivor fastback. Grabber green with white interior. 26,367 original miles. Prior to our purchasing from the State of Ohio car had not been on the road or running since 1979.

Original owner estate car. Original 1969 Ohio license plate - Original paint, original interior, original tires - Car has never been restored

Full bumper-to-bumper in-depth Shelby Mustang service performed, in 2024, by our factory-authorized Shelby American dealership - car runs and drives fantastic. All components including the rare tilt-pop-a-way steering wheel and sequential taillights are in good working order.

Car needs nothing to immediately start to drive & enjoy.

Car was stored in a HVAC basement (actually built around it in 1979) for well over 40 years until we bought it in 2022. Original matching-numbers drive-train, paint, tires, wheels, etc.

Fully documented - One of only 18 special paint (grabber green) GT 500 fastbacks built in 1969 & one of only 4 with white interior  - super rare white interior, factory 4-speed with all options including - traction loc rear end, sport deck rear filing seat, power steering, tilt pop a way wheel, power brakes, AM radio, tinted glass, original Goodyear Polyglass tires. Nothing missing including the smog system  Only original & unrestored once - Time capsule survivor car - Original patina from every angle when you look at this car - Factory line inspections stickers still in place, original FoMoCo headlights, car even has its original factory tie-down clamps for transport that were usually removed by the selling Ford dealership when new and discarded.

This is a classic Shelby GT 500 with the overall look of a respected muscle machine proudly showing off the years of originality. One would be hard pressed to find one like it, let alone in this color combination. The exterior of the car looks wonderful, having never been restored and it's a great original survivor. It has the factory-original grabber green paint, complemented by the white Clarion Knit Interior. As an original unrestored survivor, the first impression is the unbelievable condition this vehicle is in for being 55-years-old.

The undercarriage is factory original with no signs of any rust or wreck history. Original Goodyear Polyglass GT mounted on Shelby five-spoke chrome wheels drives this machine. It has documentation including Owner's Manual, Order Form, Marti Report, Dealer Invoice, etc.

This Shelby is a virtual time capsule, being the closest experience to owning a new Shelby GT500 back in 1969.

There are only a handful of these cars in all original condition in existence, making this one stand out in a sea of restored cars. This car in particular is the one to buy if you have been looking for a true original, well-maintained, never restored fully documented Shelby Mustang. The car is listed in the SAAC registry.

Title in hand - White glove door-to-door Transport & financing available to qualified individuals

About the GT500 Line:

The GT500 was the top of the line Grand Touring muscle car of the day with very distinctive styling from the standard Mustang stable. A 1969 Shelby advertisement had the heading of 'Fire and Refinement' and suggested 'the Shelby, a very special kind of car...GT350 or the GT500...designed for rapid transit in the utmost comfort and luxury'. The '69 and '70 Shelby Mustangs were built entirely at the Ford Plants. The Ford marketing team wanted to achieve more brand recognition through these extremely popular Shelby machines along with their own special high-performance Boss and Mach 1 Mustangs.

These next generation Shelby Mustang GTs were either the 351 cu in equipped GT350 or the GT500 with Ford's mega 428 block. The 428CJ performance was a very respectable quarter mile in 14 seconds at 102 mph. The 1969 model year received an extensive face lift with the body increasing in length by 4 inches. Up front, the dual headlights now sat within the full width/deep recessed Black Grill with the Snake in the right corner.

The distinctive hood had the air duct system for cooling the engine with five 'NACA ducts' as they were known providing three inlets and two outlet vents. Out back, a contoured body spoiler that has a Black recessed full-width insert having the Shelby name in chrome letters. Below the Rear Spoiler is the distinctive styling of full width tail lights. Also the dual exhaust exited from a special cast unit that rose up the center of the rear roll pan. Overall this new exterior look was long and low with racy styling and looks.
